talent development image The development community is under siege. You won't find any business leader refuting the need to invest in the development of their people, but businesses want proof that costly development programmes actually deliver a return for them.

We agree that, whilst many development programmes are stimulating for the participants, the benefits rarely get translated into tangible business benefits. We think that getting the right person in the right role, and creating teams with the right make up, are the key differentiating steps. Beyond that, since there is no such thing as a perfect role match, development effort needs to be focused on addressing the specific characteristics or skills that will turn a great match into an outstanding one.

We have no preconceptions about the form of development intervention that works best - 'fit for purpose' is our mantra. Typically our work with you on assessing your business' talent will lead to planning next steps, whether an induction programme, detailed short and medium term development plans, or clear succession steps. Some of this we will be happy to implement ourselves, and for some of your needs we may point you in the direction of great niche providers with whom we work.
