Organisation & Role Design

Roles are the vehicle through which work gets done and results are delivered; organisational structures are just networks of roles with a common overarching purpose. We know that great people can only do a great job if their role makes sense. Poorly designed roles and organisations can sabotage even the most outstanding individuals.

people in a meetingWhether your business is appointing to a new or existing role, or going through change and needing to take a step back to review key roles or redesign the organisation as a whole, we can help. Depending on the issue, we'll ask you and ourselves tough questions like:

  • What has changed, or will change, that requires the organisational structure or key roles to change?
  • What does a new organisational design need to deliver?
  • Why does or should this role exist? What is the unique contribution that it makes to delivering the business strategy?
  • How clear are the interconnections with other roles?
  • Is it clear what the role is, and is not, accountable for?
  • Is the role do-able (i.e. does the human being exist who possesses all the capabilities and energy required for the role) or should the responsibilities be redistributed?

In our experience designing organisations and roles is intellectually demanding and often emotive for those concerned. With Zenobia, you can be sure you have a partner that is equal to the task.
